What is the difference between contour following and self leveling booms?

Goldacres booms are contour following which means that the boom follows on the same plane as the sprayer axle – as the sprayer travels over contours the boom follows. A self leveling boom uses gravity to remain level – therefore as a sprayer travels over contours, with a self leveling boom, the boom would require adjustment by the operator to prevent ground strike.
